Each month the SCC Crew searchs the country for the latest news on all things Trans-Am. We comb the magazine racks, car shows, and internet to bring articles, photos, links, and more on your favorite muscle car! We will be adding article links in this section soon, so stay tuned.
Towards the bottom of this section there is coverage of the 2009 AutoRama and SEMA show featuring Kevin Morgan's second TA concept.
Be sure to check out the number of 2009 AutoRama photos down the right hand side of this section.
Movers and Shakers - NEW!
We are currently working on a new section called Movers and Shakers that will highlight someone in the Firebird community that is really doing something special.
SCC would like to name Kevin Morgan as a "Mover and Shaker".
Kevin's countless hours and miles across the US in an effort to "Bring It Back!" has brought his dream to a reality.
His Concept Car has landed in and on the cover of several magazines. Be sure to check out the March issue of Hot Rod.
Congratulations Kevin from the SCC Team!
You can read the Concept Car story in the 5th Gen section.
SCC would like to feature "TransAmer99's" with his 2002 Firehawk, "LadyHawk".

"LadyHawk" is a 2002 SLP Firehawk, #1223 of 1503, LS-1, Auto, 3.56 rear, 345 HP/350 TQ.
She will be on display at the 2009 Houston AutoRama at the George Brown Convention Center the weekend after Thanksgiving.

"I have to tell you I have driven this Firehawk and it is one FAST ride! "TransAmer99" was nice enough to come help with our home rebuild after Hurricane Ike and we took a spin." - Hooper
Congratulations to one dynamic duo!
How the "Dynamic Duo" Teamed Up
Story by "TransAmer99"
"LadyHawk" came home with me on the last day of July, 2007. I found her for sale on eBay, but quickly determined the seller to be a local dealership. Some believe she to be my midlife crisis, but they're only partially correct. The more sinister fact is that I hope to one day own at least one representative of each of the four generations of Firebirds, so this puts me halfway toward that goal.
I wasn't particularly looking for a 4th Gen. yet (was actually hoping to find an affordable 1st Gen. convertible to work on), but this being a verified "Hawk" she very quickly moved her to the top of my list. Another contributing factor was that my oldest daughter was soon to have her drivers license, so I reasoned that by making my daily driver available to her, I would be "in need" of another car for myself. Yeah - midlife crisis!
Monday I took off at lunch from work to take a test drive and made the man a cash offer in case the car didn't sell for the asking price by the time the auction ended on Tuesday. I got a call on Wednesday that my offer was accepted and made arrangements to take delivery on Friday. Thursday was spent begging my wife to go along with this "much needed investment"!
I am the 5th owner and I took delivery with 82k miles on the clock. My wife, in-laws and outlaws don't exactly share my Pontiac obsession. They never pass an opportunity to let me know their "less-than-charitable" opinions of this particular acquisition, so I made a concession to them, “If anyone makes me an offer that meets or exceeds 'my price', I will sell the car.”. However, be advised "That 'my price' is non-negotiable and not subject to fluctuations in the economy or the collector-car marketplace.". But the funny thing about all of this is that whenever any of the afore-mentioned nay-sayers take a ride or a drive in "LadyHawk", I see nothing but smiles and mine is the most satisfied of all.

Looks like Hannah decided to wait and instead focus on using the gasoline engine she already had. The actress told MNN that the Kill Bill Trans-Am has been converted to run on 100% pure alcohol (or ethanol).
The SCC Team traveled to the AutoRama car show in Houston, TX to meet up with "TransAmer99" and the rest of the great gang over at TACH (Trans-Am Club of Houston) of which I am a member.
(L to R) Donald, "Doughnut", "zman", Mason (in front), "Hooper" and "TransAmer99" at the Houston AutoRama 11-27-09
Mason had a great time at the show and even helped load some items we bought at the show. This event filled the interior of the George Brown Convention Center from end to end with nearly 500 cars.
The event had an auction, swap meet, die cast, Hot Wheels, Vender booths and of course the show.
Above was the feature car on exhibit.
Below are some pictures of the TACH booth, which was a nice grouping of all generations. They were a great group to spend the weekend with!(L to R) Paul Kenny's 1979 Bandit survivor and "TransAmer99's" "Gray Ghost"
Below is Bob Wicker (founder of TACH) and his VERY NICE TA!
This car was such a clean, sweet ride!
Below is "TransAmer99's" "LadyHawk" (a 2002 FireHawk) this month's SCC COTM (Car of the Month). I got to drive this beauty back to his house after the show. She is one fun ride!
Donald found a nice die cast of his 25th Anniversary Camaro
Early on the final morning if the show we had to load some goodies we stumbled across at the swap meet. This set of '79 Trans-Am fenders and Shaker hood were hidden from view, tucked away in a booth.
(L to R) Donald, Mason and "TransAmer99"
Not figuring we would find such a large treasure I was not prepared, but came up with a "Redneck" way of safe transport for the 2 1/2 drive home.
"Redneck scratch guard" - A sock and a little duct tape...this method is patent pending
All in all we had a great time with only one minor downfall. An unnamed Houston towing company grabbed one of the birds from our group, as well as "Doughnut's" truck. As we walked back to our vehicles we spotted the event. If we would have been 5 minutes later we would have all come back to an empty lot.
I was still in haggling mode from the swap meet so I quickly was able to talk my truck loose as then ran over to help talk another one "off the hook" (THANK GOD!). We ended up making a deal to save the other 3 vehicles from our group from getting towed (at a price).
We left the lot and went to go get over buddies' nabbed vehicles to the tune of $192.00 each.
