The Nest

Check out some of our readers and customers cars. We are all wrench turning Firebird and Trans-Am fans. The featured birds are all in different stages of restoration. These owners are proud of their birds in any stage, as they should be. This is what this site is all about.

  • Fast Bird!

Featured here is a bird that is under construction in Illinois from "poncholvr" on the SCC forum. He is building a 468 monster for it! I can't wait to see the time trials on that motor!

  • Graphic Designer's Car

Featured here is a nice 1976 T/A located in Oklahoma from "MotorCityThreads", another SCC forum member, designer of the SCC logo and Manager of the SCC online store.

This car has a 400 with a 4 speed, 3.73 gears that runs 13.00's. "Met my wife in this car, without it I'd probably still be single."

  • Kevin Morgan

We would like to welcome, Kevin Morgan of Kevin Morgan Designs to the SCC Nest! This is his baby, a 1981 Turbo Trans-Am which was modified into this 1977 in the picture below.

Kevin even cut and applied the vinyl bird to the hood himself.

Many of you may already know his work, which is featured below. He is the Designer of the Trans Am Concept Drawings and was also the official designer of the 2007 T/A Nationals merchandise.

Click on the picture below to see his work.

Glad to have you aboard Kevin! Drop him a line, look for him as "KevinMorganDesigns" on the SCC forum today! Tell him Hooper sent you.

  • Our UK Friend

The SCC Garage went international with the addition of our new UK friend, “sir english firebird”. Here is his pride and joy! It is a 1980 Esprit. He has done a great job restoring this car and has posted some pictures on the SCC forum. If you would like to see his work and read his restoration story click his car photo.

Keep us updated on your adventures in the UK.

  • You Don't See Many 1975

She is a 1975 Trans-Am that has a 1977 400ci with an Edelbrock Performer intake, and carb, Hooker headers, and a Turbo 350 tranny with a 1977 posi-trac 3.23 rear end. The car has the original 8-track player. Wow, how cool is that!

She belongs to "rkellerjr" from the SCC forum.

Here are some videos that "rkellerjr" made about his car:

  • No Trailer Princess Here!

This picture of a 78 Esprit was taken in a small fishing village at the mouth of Halifax Harbor, called Eastern Passage. It is owned by “HotWings” on the SCC forum board.

The car is loaded with a 355 SBC 450hp TH350 tranny and a 3.42:1 posi in the rear. This Bird was last painted in 1994 and has never been in an accident. She's never seen snow, winter and was parked indoors during the summer also. He let us know that, “I got it with 108,500 kms on it and have put almost 24,000 kms on her in 2 summers!’ This ain't no trailer princess!”.

  • Birds of a Feather

    Here are pictures of “Raven’s” Trans-Ams. He has a 1977 Special Edition Trans-Am and a 1978 Trans-Am.

The 1977 is stock and original with the exception being the radio. She is currently being restored by Jason Daugherty of Transformation Restorations. Raven admitted, “I like getting pulled over in this one!”

The 1978 is a work in progress with the paint and mechanicals being complete leaving the interior yet to be done. This car is about as non-original as you can get. He has identified parts from 5 different Firebirds of various years and even a few other non-Pontiac parts! The original engine was a W72 400 which he has, but a 1974 455 Super Duty currently rests between the fenders mated to a 4-speed. The engine had been modified by one of the previous owners and currently displaces 460ci. This is one fast car! To see more of this car, go check out http://www.tempusfugit.ws/
